RAZZ Rules
Razz is a 7 card stud game where the best low hand wins. Since the straights and flushes do not affect the lowness of the hand, the best possible hand in the game is A2345. As in a regular stud game, all players are dealt seven cards through the course of a hand. All seven of these cards can be used only by the player who holds them to make the best five-card hand (there are no community cards in stud).
In the beginning every player posts “ante”, a mandatory amount to build a pot. The dealer begins to deal clockwise until each player has three cards. The first two of those cards are dealt face down and are called “hole cards”, the third is dealt face up and is named “door card”.
The first betting round starts. During the betting rounds all players have a choice to Call- match amount bet in the big blind, Raise- increase the amount bet or Fold- to surrender and throw away the pocket cards.
Fourth card (Fourth Street) is dealt face up to each player. Second betting round begins. Fifth card (Fifth Street) is dealt face up to each player and the third betting round follows. Another exposed card (Sixth Street) is dealt to each player and the fourth betting round follows. Each player is dealt a last card (River) face down. The final betting round completes the hand and the showdown exposes the winner with the best low hand.
